Installation:
-------------

1. Install ucd-snmp 4.2.5, the SNMP agent
=========================================

Download:

   http://www.net-snmp.org


Add the xmlBlaster MIB:

  mkdir -p $HOME/.snmp/mibs
  cp XMLBLASTER-MIB  $HOME/.snmp/mibs		 // or to /usr/share/snmp/mibs/


(
Configure snmp deamon in /usr/share/snmp/snmpd.conf:

  rocommunity public
  rwcommunity private
)


Start the deamon (as root):

  snmpd -D -x 705


Watch the log file:

 tail -n 1000 -f /var/log/snmpd.log 




2. Start xmlBlaster with its SNMP sub agent
===========================================

The subagent is using jax.jar from jax-0.0.15

  ftp://ftp.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/pub/local/jasmin/
  http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/projects/jasmin/jax.html

you don't need to download it, it is supplied in xmlBlaster/lib/jax.jar


  java SubagentTest n
  where n is a non negative number, identifying a testcase.
  n = 0: tests all traps.
  n = 1: tests valid table entry inserts.
  n = 2: tests more complex valid table entry inserts.
  n = 3: tests invalid table entry inserts. No parent entry.
  n = 4: tests invalid table entry removes. Child entries exist.
  n = 5: tests valid table entry removes.

  java org.xmlBlaster.Main -admin.snmp.debug true -admin.snmp.port 705



3. Try a command line query

snmpwalk -m ~/.snmp/mibs/XMLBLASTER-MIB  develop private .1.3.6.1.4.1.11662

snmpget -m ~/.snmp/mibs/XMLBLASTER-MIB  develop private enterprises.xmlblaster.node.connectionTable.connectionEntry.connectionHost.1.1
