The xmlBlaster test suite
=========================


   The xmlBlaster test suite is based on the
   JUNIT testsuite from Kent Beck and Erich Gamma.

   see http://www.junit.org

   junit.jar is distributed in $XMLBLASTER_HOME/lib/junit.jar
   See $XMLBLASTER_HOME/lib/LICENSE for the current version.

Note:
-----

   All sub directories contain a TestAll file to test all tests
   of that subdirectory.

   YOU NEED TO START Postgres or Oracle for persistent storage
   to run the tests, otherwise most tests will fail!


Start the test suite:
---------------------

   Simply type:

      cd xmlBlaster

      Compile everything new:
        build.sh delete
        build.sh all

      build.sh  runTests

      (
        build.sh report
        will create a HTML report after testing
      )


Note for Linux:
---------------

   When running the complete test suite you can run out of threads
   Try this in your /etc/profile:

    # You can check with 'ulimit -a' your current settings
    #max open files (before 1024):
    ulimit -n 4096
    #max user processes (before 4095)
    ulimit  -u 8190

   Or run the tests separately:

    cd xmlBlaster/testsuite/src/java/org/xmlBlaster/test
    export CLASSPATH=../../../../../../lib/xmlBlaster.jar:../../../../../../lib/junit.jar
    test.sh
      

Start the test suite manually:
------------------------------

   Start xmlBlaster server:

      java org.xmlBlaster.Main

   Start the test suite with SWING GUI support:

      java -Xms18M -Xmx156M -Djava.compiler= junit.swingui.TestRunner -noloading org.xmlBlaster.test.classtest.AllTests

   Start the test suite with AWT GUI support:

      java -Xms18M -Xmx156M -Djava.compiler= junit.awtui.TestRunner -noloading org.xmlBlaster.test.classtest.AllTests

   For command line output invoke:

      java  -Xms18M -Xmx156M -Djava.compiler= junit.textui.TestRunner -noloading org.xmlBlaster.test.classtest.AllTests

   Start one test without testsuite (and with debugging output on console):

      java -Djava.compiler= org.xmlBlaster.test.qos.TestUnSub -logging FINEST


   Test RMI:

      java -Djava.compiler= -Dclient.protocol=RMI junit.swingui.TestRunner -noloading org.xmlBlaster.test.classtest.AllTests

   Test XMLRPC:

      java -Djava.compiler= -Dclient.protocol=XMLRPC junit.swingui.TestRunner -noloading org.xmlBlaster.test.classtest.AllTests
