The annual ACM SIGMOD conference is a leading forum for database researchers,
 practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and to ex
change techniques, tools, and experiences. We invite the submission of origin
al research 
contributions and industrial papers, as well as proposals for panels, tutoria
ls, and demonstrations. We encourage submissions relating to all aspects of d
ata management defined broadly; and particularly encourage work on topics of 
emerging interest in 
the research and development communities.

DS) 

The symposium invites papers on fundamental aspects of databases. Original re
search papers on the theory, design, specification, or implementation of data
bases are solicited. Papers emphasizing new topics or foundations of emerging
 areas are especially 
welcome. The symposium will be held in Town and Country Hotel in San Diego, i
n conjunction with the ACM SIGMOD International Conference on Management of D
ata (SIGMOD), and as part of the Federated Computing Research Conference (FCR
C'03).
