My reasons:
1. The question is not concrete.
There are data streams in many context, so is stream data. Doing an overall
comparison of each context they are used is simply not worthwhile.
On the other hand, even if you get the answer, I doubt if it is what you
really want. Pose youre *real* questions instead and that might be more
helpful.
2. Or the answer is there already.
With some knowledge of english grammar, the two terms are actually describing
two different things, stream and data. Isn't that the exact answer to
your question? Again, I doubt if it is helpful to you.
3. A useful answer but not that relevant to your question.
There is a well-known tutorial on the topic of stream data processing by
Minos Garofalakis, Johannes Gehrke and Rajeev Rastogi at
http://www.bell-labs.com/user/rastogi/tutorials.html
Reading the tutorial carefully and possibly following the references (or
the other way around?) will definitely give you some idea of the whole
picture in this area (from the db perspective).
