Tutorial Proposal Submission
Tutorial proposals must clearly identify the intended audience. A proposal sho
uld include a description and outline of the proposed contents; names, affilia
tions, and biographical sketches of the speaker(s). The intended length of the
tutorial (3 or 6 hours) should also be indicated. For more details of the tut
orial proposal, please look at the Tutorial web page at the conference main pa
ge. Tutorial proposals should be submitted (preferably by email) directly to T

Workshop Proposal Submission
lang=EN-AU>PAKDD[0x92]04 seeks proposals for workshops on novel and emerging a
reas of Knowledge Discovery & Data Mining, both theoretical and applied. Innov
ative topics are most welcome. Workshops are intended to serve as forums for d
iscussion of ideas and work of emerging interest, and to promote interactions
between experts in disparate areas that do not have standard forums for intera
ction. Examples of such areas include, but are not restricted to, areas such a
s security and privacy, reliability, stream processing, results and experience
from real-world applications, economic and commercial issues in mining, and s
o on. Workshops specifically targeted at bringing together practitioners and t
heoretical researchers are also welcome. These workshops are expected to be ei
ther half-day or one-day events. Workshop proposals must be sent (preferably b
y email) directly to Workshop Chairs:

Industrial Stream
The PAKDD 2004 will have an industrial stream which aims to report the new dev
elopment of the real application of data mining in industry. The Industry Stre
am will highlight research and development in data mining with a strong applic
ation and deployment focus. We are seeking submissions of papers covering prac
tical problems and issues KDD practitioners have encountered in their work and
how they went about solving them. All papers will be fully reviewed by an int
ernational panel of reviewers, and formal publication is being negotiated. We
are also seeking expressions of interest from vendors and consultants who are
able to present their products and services.
For more details on industrial stream papers, please look at the call for Indu
strial stream papers at the conference main page.
Further inquiries regarding participation, please contact Graham.Williams@csir
