1. No DM session in SIGMOD. (One DM paper in PODS though) But it is
   said this is largely because of the style of the program committee.

2. Privacy/security, etc. seems to be a new trend (c.f. FCRC's
   plenary talk; Rakesh's tutorial in SIGMOD; Lowell report; papers
   on watermarking/fingerprinting) that can finds its way into
   Database research.

3. Rakesh's tutorial focused more, in terms of future research, on the
   hippocratic database.

4. Lowell report calls on DM people to solve the problem of "find me
   interesting results". (Interestingly, they do not comment on "grid
   computing").
