The first paper about privacy preserving data mining is published no later tha
n 2000.
The QUEST group in IBM Almadon Research Center has paper about this on SIGMOD'20
00. And it seems that they have some joint work Gehrke these years on it.

And I think w3c's P3P project has much relationships with their research
