Neural Networks for Pattern Recognition

This is, to some sense, a bible like book in this field.


R. Duda and P. Hart
Pattern Classification and Scene Analysis, Wiley, New York, 1973.
A classic textbook in PR, it's old, but well written.
There is a sencond version

Richard O. Duda, Peter E. Hart, David G. Stork
Pattern Classification (2nd Edition)
Maybe the 2nd version is not as good as the 1st one.


K. Fukunaga
Introduction to Statistical Pattern Recognition, Academic Press, 
Boston, MA, 1990.
Another classic book. I like the way Fukunaga deals with fundamental issues.
especially his chapter 2.

there are some chinese textbooks in PR. 
《模式识别》 
边肇琪 等 清华大学出版社
It is translated and complied by the authors, not written by them.
To be frank, that book (and its new version) is not good, especially those
chapters for basic materials.

but this is the best chinese book (at least in my opinion)
