With an activeInternet connection, you can retrieve the latest version of theCedega engine via the setup wizard, or by selecting Check for Updatesfrom the TransGaming menu within Cedega. Checking for updates willallow you to select which additional components you wish to download.Be sure that your user name and password have been entered correctlyinto the TransGamer Account dialog; an active subscription isrequired to download updates. Users who need to use a Proxy server toconnect to the Internet may also fill out the Proxy serverinformation on this page. You may also download a manual updatepackage from the downloads section at </FONT><FONT COLOR="#000080"><U><A HREF="http://www.transgaming.com/"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">www.transgaming.com</FONT></A></U></FONT><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">. </FONT></P><H2 CLASS="western">Installing Add-Ons (Mozilla Control and MicrosoftCore Fonts)</H2><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">For theoptimal experience, Cedega requires two additional packages: theMozilla Control package and the Microsoft Core Fonts package. </FONT></P><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">TheMozilla Control allows programs that use embedded HTML to becorrectly displayed. </FONT></P><P><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Microsoft Core Fonts are needed fora </FONT>number<FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"> of applications todisplay the correct fonts.</FONT></P><P><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Both packages can be installed byselecting TransGaming -> Check for Updates. If the packages arenot installed, Cedega will download and install them for you. This button will only edit the installation settings and have no effect on game play settings.</FONT></P> </UL></UL><H2 CLASS="western">Multi-Disc Installers</H2><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Manygames are only made available on multiple discs. When a gameinstaller requests the next disc, you can unmount the disc driveusing the (Un)mount button in Cedega. In many cases this will alsoeject the disc. </FONT></P><UL> <LI><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Allow the CD/DVD device a few seconds to eject before pressing the physical eject button on your CD/DVD drive. Manually ejecting the disc early may cause a hang in the installer. </FONT> </P></UL><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><BR></P><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">If youhave a Linux distribution with an automount feature, you should justpress the physical eject button on your CD/DVD drive instead. Cedegainterfaces transparently with most automount configurations,effectively making the (Un)mount button in Cedega obsolete.</FONT></P><UL> <LI><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Some automount configurations may require you to press the eject button twice to physically eject the disc.</FONT></P></UL><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><BR></P><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Thisspecial eject functionality is only available in conjunction withversions of Cedega 4.0 and later; if you attempt to use it withearlier versions, it will use regular Linux methods to unmount thedisk, and may fail due to files being kept open by the installer. Cedega version 4.0.1 and later have this feature turned off bydefault. Automount integration has been available for variousconfigurations of automount since Cedega 5.0.<!-- So is this off or on right now? --></FONT></P><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><BR></P><P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0cm"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Sincethere are known performance issues associated with leaving thisoption on during game play it is recommended to only use this optionduring game installation (the default). Issues may also arise if youhave certain types of media, such as compact flash devices, mountedwhen using this feature, so it is recommended that you unmount suchdevices before using the eject monitoring functionality.
