Be sure to meet the recommended game hardware. We suggest exceeding the recommendations for optimal game performance. Please refer to the documentation included with the game for details.</P> <LI><P CLASS="western">Space for games, plus 60 MB free for Cedega.</P> <LI><P CLASS="western">Please see below for video card recommendations.</P></UL><H2 CLASS="western"><A NAME="3.3.Video Card|outline"></A>Video Card</H2><P CLASS="western">Due to superior Linux driver support, TransGamingrecommends using a NVIDIA GeForce class video card. Pixel shaders areonly available on NVIDIA FX class cards and above. Shader Model 2.0is only available on a GeForce 5X00 and above, however, TransGamingrecommends enabling these options only on a 6X00 or above for bestperformance. </P><P CLASS="western">Cedega also works with ATI Radeon 8500 or bettercards using the proprietary drivers available from ATI. Please notethat the ATI drivers may have bugs or be missing features in somecore functionality and may cause errors, graphical anomalies or thegame to simply not work with Cedega.</P><P CLASS="western">Other on-board video cards such as Intel and S3video cards will run some games through Cedega, but many games willnot run or may crash due to bugs or missing functionality in thedrivers.</P><P CLASS="western">Older cards such as the TNT, TNT2, Radeon 7500,Rage Pro, Voodoo, Matrox or similar cards are not recommended for usewith Cedega. </P><P CLASS="western">Remember; the better your video card, the betteryour gaming experience. </P><H1 CLASS="western"><A NAME="4.Getting Cedega|outline"></A>GettingCedega</H1><P CLASS="western">Cedega is available in the download section at www.cedega.com. </P><P CLASS="western"><BR></P><H2 CLASS="western"><A NAME="4.1.Choosing and Installing Your Package |outline"></A>Choosing and Installing Your Package </H2><P CLASS="western">Cedega comes in three different package types;rpm, deb and tgz. Some additional Linux components may need to beinstalled for Cedega to work correctly. The Setup Wizard will guide you throughinstalling the Cedega engine as well as the optional Cedegacomponents and determining if your system is ready to play games. Thecore components of your computer will be automatically detected and abattery of tests will be run to ensure that the best gamingexperience will be had. </P><P CLASS="western">It is highly recommended that you have an activeInternet connection for this stage.</P><P CLASS="western">Please refer to the Cedega Troubleshooting Guideif you run into any errors during the setup wizard or the systemtests.</P><H2 CLASS="western"><A NAME="5.3.Installing a Game |outline"></A>Installinga Game </H2><P CLASS="western">Installing a game through Cedega couldn't beeasier. Simply insert the disc and press the install button to startthe process. If the game is a supported title, click the Detect GameDisc button and optimal settings will be used. For unsupported gamesenter the Game Folder name and browse for the installer executable(usually setup.exe or install.exe) from the game disc. Click continueand follow through the installation instructions that came with gameyou are installing. </P><H2 CLASS="western"><A NAME="5.5.Installing an Update|outline"></A>Installingan Update</H2><P CLASS="western">Updating a game or installing an expansion packcan be just as easy. Open the installation dialog and select the GameFolder of the original game, use the browse button to select theinstaller executable and click continue. Follow the installationinstructions for the update/expansion.</P><H2 CLASS="western">Playing a Game</H2><P CLASS="western">To play a game select the Game Folder and Shortcutthen click the Play button.</P><H2 CLASS="western">Removing A Game</H2><P CLASS="western">To remove an installed game select the game folderand select Tools -> Game Folders -> Delete</P><H1 CLASS="western"><A NAME="6.Configuring Cedega|outline"></A>ConfiguringCedega</H1><P CLASS="western">Game settings are applied using a layered method.Settings come from a combination of three layers the Global Settings,a GDDB file and any per-shortcut settings that may be applied. </P><H2 CLASS="western"><A NAME="6.1.Global Settings|outline"></A>GlobalSettings</H2><P CLASS="western">Cedega options can be modified using Edit ->Global Settings. Settings are applied to all games played unlessoverridden by the GDDB or using the per shortcut settings. </P><H2 CLASS="western"><A NAME="6.3.Game Disc Database (GDDB)|outline"></A>Game Disc Database (GDDB)</H2><P CLASS="western">Supported games have a games disc database entrythat include the best known settings for both installation andplaying. The GDDB settings are applied on top of the global settingsand take precedence. GDDB settings can be disabled by selecting Nonein the GDDB field in the installation dialog or the shortcutproperties dialog.</P><H2 CLASS="western">Per Shortcut Settings</H2><P CLASS="western">Per shortcut settings can be modified by rightclicking the shortcut and selecting "Edit Settings for thisShortcut" or through the shortcut properties dialog (EditSettings).
