The pluginprotocol and configuration has changed significantly from Resin 2.1.Resin 3.0 plugins read their configuration from a configurationserver, not from the resin.conf directly.</p></s1><s1 title="Servlet 2.4 and JSP 2.0"><p>Because both Servlet 2.4 and JSP 2.0 are still in draft stage,Resin's support is considered beta. However, we don't expectthe specs are likely to change much from the current draft to thefinal draft.</p></s1><s1 title="XSLT"><p>The XSLT implementation has changed dramatically, as part of along-needed cleanup. There shouldn't be any visible changes, althoughnew bugs could certainly have crept in.</p></s1><s1 title="Caching"><p>Resin's caching now understands "Vary" and "Cache-Control:max-age=15". The "Vary" will help GZip performance and the max-agewill make it easier to add caching to pages.</p></s1><s1 title="connection-pool"><p>Configuration for the connection/thread pool now includesspare-thread-max and spare-thread-min, which work like Apache'sMinSpareServers and MaxSpareServers. spare-thread-max andspare-thread-min specify the min and max number of idle threads thatResin tries to keep around ready for new requests.</p></s1><s1 title="Resin 3.0 Configuration Changes"><p>The Resin 3.0 configuration has changed significantly from Resin2.1, mostly by being stricter.
