<P>The TI OMAP BSP Add-on Pack v1.0 release is tested on AKU2.0. However, you can install and build this release on any Windows Mobile Version 5.0-based installation.</P>
<P>This release includes two new BSPs, the TI OMAP850 FSample v1.0 and TI OMAP730 P2Sample v2.0, which are jointly supported by Microsoft and TI. Microsoft is providing the BSP while TI is supplying the radio stack and OST for flashing. These BSPs are production quality, LTK compliant, and ready to build into compelling Windows Mobile Version 5.0 Smartphones.</P>
<H1 class="dtH1"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor6"></A>System Requirements for Windows Mobile Version 5.0 TI OMAP BSP Add-on Pack v1.0</H1>
<P>To use Windows Mobile Version 5.0 TI OMAP BSP Add-on Pack v1.0, you need:
<UL type="disc">
<LI>400-MHz Pentium II or later processor; 1-GHz processor recommended </li>
<LI>Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 or later </li>
<LI>Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1 </li>
<LI>256 MB of RAM; 512 MB of RAM recommended </li>
<LI>4.5 GB of available hard-disk space for a typical single microprocessor installation, including Platform Builder for Windows Mobile Version 5.0 and the Windows Mobile Version 5.0 TI OMAP BSP Add-on Pack.</li>
<LI>VGA or higher-resolution monitor; Super VGA recommended </li>
<LI>Microsoft Mouse or similar pointing device </li>
<LI>Serial port or Ethernet card for debugging support; a LAN hub is recommended </li>
<LI>CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive</li>
</UL>
<H1 class="dtH1"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor9"></A>Installation Issues for Windows Mobile Version 5.0 TI OMAP BSP Add-on Pack v1.0</H1>
<P>Please back up and remove your existing \Platform\P2Sample directory. The installation setup wizard cannot remove these files. If you do not remove this directory and any extra files remain in this location after the setup wizard runs, you will typically receive a build error related to orphaned files. This only applies to releases prior to Windows Mobile Version 5.0 AKU2.0. Windows Mobile Version 5.0 AKU2.0 and later releases will include the BSP.</P>

<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor11"></A>P2Sample and FSample wideband support issues</H4>
<P>Wideband support on the P2Sample requires gsm build TCS 3.1.5 or later.</P>
<P>Wideband support on the FSample requires gsm build TCS 4.0.19 or later.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor12"></A>FSample BSP supports specific download and debug scenarios</H4>
<P>For the FSample BSP, the following scenarios are supported:
<UL type="disc">
<LI>Downloading over USB and debugging over USB</li>
<LI>Downloading over Ethernet and debugging over Ethernet</li>
</UL>
<P>The following scenarios are not supported:
<UL type="disc">
<LI>Downloading over USB and debugging over Ethernet</li>
<LI>Downloading over Ethernet and debugging over USB</li>
</UL>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor13"></A>FSample pendant bus support issues</H4>
<P>If the FSample BSP uses CPLD version 6, the pendant bus is not supported. This is because the number of GPIO pins is limited and a decision was made to support Bluetooth technology over the pendant bus.</P>
<P>To enable pendant bus support on the FSample BSP using CPLD version 5, you must compile xldr with the BSP_NOPNDTBUS flag cleared. If this flag is cleared, Bluetooth will not work correctly because the pendant bus and Bluetooth share a GPIO pin.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor14"></A>Data communication port for P2Sample and FSample can be shared by CSD and GPRS calls</H4>
<P>When the TI radio driver, GSMTi.dll, is used as a data communication port for P2Sample and FSample BSP, the port does not close appropriately and allows simultaneous usage by a CSD call and a GPRS call.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor15"></A>Device state fails to update after a USB ActiveSync cable is removed on the P2Sample and FSample BSP</H4>
<P>FSample boards exhibit an electrical issue which, while not isolated to OMAP 850, prevents OMAP 850 from registering a USB function detach event. As a result, the device does not change to a disconnected state when the USB ActiveSync cable is unplugged. The desktop system registers the USB cable being unplugged and changes to a disconnected state, but the device state does not change, and it will continue to attempt to synchronize on schedule, and it allows you to attempt a manual synchronization. Once the USB connection is restored, the synchronization will complete as expected.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor16"></A>Music skips occasionally when a headphone is paired with FSample</H4>
<P>This is a Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) issue that occurs with the BRF6150 v2.12 firmware on the FSample BSP. This issue does not appear for the FSample BSP when used with headsets that are strictly compliant with A2DP specifications. A later version of the firmware will address this issue. Please try the latest firmware when it is available.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor17"></A>LTK Test Case 8032 issue</H4>
<P>The call barring feature requirements described in LTK Test Case 8032 has not been verified for FSample and P2Sample.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor2"></A>LTK Test Case 9070 fails on P2Sample and FSample</H4>
<P>LTK Test Case 9070, the key chording test, fails on P2Sample and FSample due to a hardware limitation. End-user products based on these BSPs must pass this test case.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor3"></A>LTK Test Case 4017 issue</H4>
<P>On rare instances, the IRDA port may transmit incorrect data. The incorrect data is shifted right 1 byte with the first byte repeated. The frame checksum (FCS) is generated on the incorrect data. This issue is currently under investigation.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor5"></A>Timing parameters on SD Memory cards</H4>
<P>If a data operation times out, one symptoms is that the controller fails to read or write data from the SD card. It may also result in the controller entering an invalid state. If this occurs, you must increase the DTOTimeout to an acceptable value.</P>
<P>It is recommended that you set the data timeout according to the specific characteristics of the SD memory card you are using. Some Manufacturers suggest a value of (TAAC + NSAC) * 10. The TAAC and NSAC values can be read from a memory card's CSD register. It is important to note that the registry setting listed below will be internally multiplied by 1024.</P>
<P>To address this issue, two new configurable registry keys have been added for the OMAP730 & OMAP850 SD host controller driver. These settings are:</P>
<P>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\SDHC]\DTOTimeout</P>
<P>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\SDHC]\CTOTimeout</P>
<P>DTOTimeout refers to the number of clock cycles that the host controller waits before it times out on a data operation. This number is multiplied by 1024 by the host controller to determine the actual number of clock cycles to wait. If this registry setting is not set, the driver defaults to a value of 512. This equates to 512 * 1024 = 524288 clock cycles.</P>
<P>CTOTimeout refers to the number of clock cycles that the host controller waits before it times out on a command operation. This number is multiplied by 1024 by the host controller to determine the actual number of clock cycles to wait. If this registry setting is not set, the driver defaults to a value of 5. This equates to 5 * 1024 = 5120 clock cycles.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor8"></A>USB port not functioning on cold boot</H4>
<P>Booting the FSample platform from NAND flash with OTG enabled (S4 ON) can sometimes cause a boot failure. The workaround for this issue is to disable OTG, boot into the bootloader, enable OTG again, and then continue booting into the OS. In addition, Windows XP might not recognize an OTG-enabled FSample when it is plugged into the USB port. These hardware-related issues are currently under investigation.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor18"></A>UART serial driver issue</H4>
<P>The UART serial driver fails on FSample when jumper S0 is set to ON.</P>
<H4 class="dtH4"><A NAME="wce51conwindowsmobileversion50tiomapbspadd-onpackv10releasenotesanchor19"></A>XLDR issue on FSample</H4>
<P>Due to CPLD issues on FSample only, XLDR fails to download properly on some boards when the OTG dip switch 5 is set to ON. The issue is under investigation to determine whether a CPLD update is required.</P>
