FlashBurn is an application to burn data and programs
into the Flash Memory of a DSP target system.
FlashBurn is verified for use with
TI's DSP boards:
    DSK 5402, 5416, 5510, 6211, 6711
    EVM 5510
    TEB 6416

FlashBurn will allow connection to any of TI's 2X, 5X, or 6X
DSP processors.

Requirements
------------
PC running Windows 32-bit OS (W95, W98, NT)
Code Composer Studio v2.0 or later.
Recommended: XDS 510 Emulator with JTAG 3/5V Target Cable.
             XDS 560 Emulator with JTAG 3/5V Target Cable.
             Parallel connection also works, but runs slower.

Target DSP System as follows:
    TI 2X, 5x, 6x DSP Processor
    JTAG Connector for TEB6416 board
    JTAG Connector and Parallel connection for 5402, 6211, 6711 DSK
    JTAG Connector or PCI bus connection  for 5510 EVM
    JTAG Connector or USB connection      for 5416 DSK
    JTAG Connector or USB connection      for 5510 DSK

Components (FBTC programs) are provided for TI's DSK systems:
        6711 DSK Starter Kit / Atmel AT29 Flash Memory
        6211 DSK Starter Kit / Atmel AT29 Flash Memory
        5402 DSK Starter Kit / ST Micro M29W400T Flash Memory
        5416 DSK Starter Kit / AMD M29W400T Flash Memory
        5510EVM / AMD Am29LV400 Flash Memory. 
        6416 TEB Board / AMD M29W400T Flash Memory
        5510DSK / AMD Am29LV400 Flash Memory. 
QUICK START
----------
  The installer should place the FlashBurn components into the same
  top-level directory as Code Composer Studio (usually c:\ti), under
        C:\ti\bin\utilities\FlashBurn
  This assumes that you have used CCSetup to select the driver
  and configuration for the target board.
  
  5402 DSK
  --------
  Start Code Composer Studio and use Tools->FlashBurn menu
    to start FlashBurn. (Alternatively, you can start
    FlashBurn.exe directly.)
  Select File/Open and find the document Blink54.cdd.
    In a fresh installation, Blink54.cdd will be located in the
    FlashBurn folder under
          ...\FlashBurn\c5400\dsk5402
    When the document is opened, FlashBurn will display it
    as a Form on the screen.
  If there are no problems opening the document, the "Connected"
    icon will look like 3 links of a chain. If there is a problem,
    the middle link will be broken.
  Select Program/Erase Flash. Flash should erase within 6-12 seconds.
  Select Program/Start Programming to burn the FlashBlink54.hex
    program into the flash memory. This should take less than 1 second.
  To create your own hex file from a .out file, see the section
    below on 'Preparing Hex Files for FlashBurn."
  
  5416 DSK
  --------
  Start Code Composer Studio and use Tools->FlashBurn menu
    to start FlashBurn. (Alternatively, you can start
    FlashBurn.exe directly.)
  Select File/Open and find the document Blink5416.cdd.

  5510 EVM
  --------
  Dipswitches 3,4,8 should be ON, the rest OFF for JTAG connection.
  Dipswitch 1,3,4 should be ON for PCI connection.
  Start Code Composer Studio and use Tools->FlashBurn menu
    to start FlashBurn. (Alternatively, you can start
    FlashBurn.exe directly.)
  Select File/Open and find the document Blink55.cdd.
    In a fresh installation, Blink55.cdd will be located in the
    FlashBurn folder under
          ...\FlashBurn\c5500\evm5510
    When the document is opened, FlashBurn will display it
    as a Form on the screen.
  If there are no problems opening the document, the "Connected"
    icon will look like 3 links of a chain. If there is a problem,
    the middle link will be broken.
  Select Program/Erase Flash. Flash should erase within 4-12 seconds.
  Select Program/Start Programming to burn the FlashBlink55.hex
    program into the flash memory. This should take less than 1 second.

  6211 or 6711 DSK
  ----------------
  NOTE: FlashBurn uses the same components for both 6711 and 6211,
    since the flash memory is the same. Don't be concerned,
    for example, when you see that the Blink67.cdd document
    uses "FBTC62.out" and "FlashBlink62.hex."
    
  Start Code Composer Studio and use Tools->FlashBurn menu
    to start FlashBurn. (Alternatively, you can start
    FlashBurn.exe directly.)
  Select File/Open and find the document Blink62.cdd (or Blink67.cdd).
    In a fresh installation the .cdd documents will be in the
    FlashBurn folder under
          ...\FlashBurn\c6000\dsk6211\Blink62.cdd
          ...\FlashBurn \c6000\dsk6711\Blink67.cdd
    When the document is opened, FlashBurn will display it
    as a Form on the screen.
  If there are no problems opening the document, the "Connected"
    icon will look like 3 links of a chain. If there is a problem,
    the middle link will be broken.
  Select Program/Erase Flash. Flash should erase almost instantly.
  Select Program/Start Programming to burn the FlashBlink62.hex
    program into the flash memory. This takes less than 1 second.
  To create your own hex file from a .out file, see the section
    below on 'Preparing Hex Files for FlashBurn."
    6416 TEB  --------  Start Code Composer Studio and use Tools->FlashBurn menu    to start FlashBurn. (Alternatively, you can start    FlashBurn.exe directly.)  Select File/Open and find the document Blink6416.cdd.    In a fresh installation, Blink6416.cdd will be located in the    FlashBurn folder under          ...\FlashBurn\c6000\teb6416    When the document is opened, FlashBurn will display it    as a Form on the screen.  If there are no problems opening the document, the "Connected"    icon will look like 3 links of a chain. If there is a problem,    the middle link will be broken.  Select Program/Erase Flash. Flash should erase within 6-12 seconds.  Select Program/Start Programming to burn the BlinkTEB6416.hex    data into the flash memory. This should take about 4 seconds.  Exit CCS and FlashBurn, then reset the TEB board. You'll see the    LEDs blink in an ordered fashion, indicating that the flash    memory was written correctly.

User Profile
------------
FlashBurn is designed to be used by an embedded system designer,
  developer, or tester.
The user is expected to know common Windows GUI controls
  such as edit controls and radio buttons.
The user should understand the target system's memory map.
FlashBurn requires that the user be able to connect the target
  system to the PC the same way as it would be connected
  when using Code Composer Studio.
User must be able to run the "Setup Code Composer" application
  and select the correct driver for the desired connection.
User must be able to start the Code Composer Studio application
  and use CCS to run the initializer Gel Files that are
  shipped with the DSK systems:
