1. What is the "TValidatorEdit" component?
------------------------------------------

1.1 Description

TValidatorEdit is based upon the TEdit component that is shipped with Delphi 2.0. It can be
used for prompts in which certain characters may not be entered. Either you define charac-
ters which may not be entered or the characters that may only be entered.

1.2 Requirements

TValidatorEdit is intended for use with Delphi 2.0 and all sequel versions. After installa-
tion the component can be found under "Freeware" in the component library.

1.3 Files belonging to the component

- VALIDAT.PAS: The source codes of the component
- VALIDAT.DCR: The resource file containing the component icon
- VALIDAT.DCU: The compiled component file
- README.TXT:  The file you are reading at the moment
- README.HTM:  Same text, except as HTML file with hyperlinks

2. Properties of TValidatorEdit
-------------------------------
New properties of the TValidatorEdit component are:
- Keys:       A string variable which contains all the characters you want to use with 
	      TValidatorEdit. The default is ''.
- UseKeys:    Can either be veKeysAllowed or veKeysForbidden.
	      veKeysAllowed:   The characters defined in the Keys property are the only 
	                       characters that may be entered into the prompt.
	      veKeysForbidden: The characters defined in the Keys property are locked and
	 		       cannot be entered.
	      The default setting is veKeysForbidden.

If TValidatorEdit is set to its default settings it behaves like TEdit.
