Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bitHello there,I've installed Mandrake 9.0 and I've noticed that the system every 10minutes does something like "apm suspend" mode for few seconds. I've postedfewe-mails and I come to the conclusion that somehow the kernel things mysystem is... SMP with a single CPU.Anyway, I've installed kernel-linus and the problem is gone BUT I found thatmy zip and cdrom do work properly now ;-( What is the difference between all these linux kernels? is there any bootparameter that I can pass to kernel (not the linus one) so it does not go toSMP "mode"? If I recomplile the kernel without SMP flags on will the problemgo?RegardsPanos -- +++ GMX - Mail, Messaging & more http://www.gmx.net +++NEU: Mit GMX ins Internet. The other day I filled up my root partition where eveything is stored and my system crashed/froze. I was able to telnet in and reboot. When it came back up I started moving things off the root partition and onto a separate partition. In the process I somehow hosed my virtual terminals in the corner on the panel and cannot figure out how to get them back. The virtual terminals just disappeared. It may have happened as a result of the crash or in the process of moving things off the root partition ... not sure. Any idea how I can fix this and get my Virtual Terminals back?Brian--*** Sent from linux-users@lugwash.org *** http://www.lugwash.orgto unsubscribe: `echo "unsubscribe" | mail linux-users-request@lugwash.org`--*** Sent from linux-users@lugwash.org *** http://www.lugwash.orgto unsubscribe: `echo "unsubscribe" | mail linux-users-request@lugwash.org`From expert-owner@linux-mandrake.com Fri Nov 1 08:46:43 2002Return-Path: <expert-owner@linux-mandrake.com>Delivered-To: smythe@example.comReceived: from smtp.mandrake.com (smtp.mandrake.com [63.209.80.248])	by example.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 05D1E280E1	for <smythe@example.com>; Fri, 1 Nov 2002 08:46:42 -0500 (EST)Received: from yavin.mandrax.org (moseisley.mandrax.org [63.209.80.226])	by smtp.mandrake.com (Postfix) with ESMTP	id 7800483C0D; Fri, 1 Nov 2002 05:40:31 -0800 (PST)Received: by yavin.mandrax.org (Postfix, from userid 500)	id 6D58014121A; Fri, 1 Nov 2002 05:37:51 -0800 (PST)Delivered-To: expert@linux-mandrake.comReceived: from sandeepk (pool-151-197-126-68.phil.east.verizon.net [151.197.126.68])	by smtp1.mandrax.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9276D43E06	for <expert@linux-mandrake.com>; Fri, 1 Nov 2002 05:37:15 -0800 (PST)Received: from villanova.edu (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1])	by sandeepk (Postfix) with ESMTP id DCCF978256	for <expert@linux-mandrake.com>; Fri, 1 Nov 2002 08:43:06 -0500 (EST)Message-ID: <3DC284EA.10402@villanova.edu>Date: Fri, 01 Nov 2002 08:43:06 -0500From: Sandeep Khanna <sandeep.khanna@villanova.edu>Reply-To: sandeep.khanna@villanova.eduUser-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826X-Accept-Language: en-us, enMIME-Version: 1.0To: expert@linux-mandrake.comX-Loop: expert@linux-mandrake.comX-Sequence: 107Precedence: listList-Help: <mailto:sympa@linux-mandrake.com?subject=help>List-Subscribe: <mailto:sympa@linux-mandrake.com?subject=subscribe%20expert>List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:sympa@linux-mandrake.com?subject=unsubscribe%20expert>List-Post: <mailto:expert@linux-mandrake.com>List-Owner: <mailto:expert-request@linux-mandrake.com>Subject: [expert] Mandrake 9......Mozilla Quickstart?Content-type: multipart/mixed; boundary="----------=_1036157860-28558-465"Sender: expert-owner@linux-mandrake.comThis is a multi-part message in MIME format...------------=_1036157860-28558-465Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowedContent-Transfer-Encoding: 7bitHi,Does anybody know of Mozilla quickstart in Linux. Or there is no such thing !!!Well, this feature is there in M$ Windows and not in Linux !!!! I thought it is an Open Source project originating in the Open Source World, so shouldn't it be having good killer features in Linux atleast !Especially when, the main place Linux is lacking good speed is the web browsing experience with the big lizard 'Mozilla' and Office Suite like Open Office or KOffice (all of them damn slow !!!)Sandeep------------=_1036157860-28558-465Content-Type: text/plain; name="message.footer"Content-Disposition: inline; filename="message.footer"Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bitWant to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft?
