Supported Crypto hardware and Software architectures</TD><TDWIDTH="10%"ALIGN="right"VALIGN="bottom"><AHREF="cdsa.htm">Next</A></TD></TR></TABLE><HRALIGN="LEFT"WIDTH="100%"></DIV><DIVCLASS="SECT1"><H1CLASS="SECT1"><ANAME="SOFTWARE-GPKCS11">The gpkcs11 PKCS#11 open–source implementation</A></H1><P> <AHREF="http://www.trustcenter.de/html/Produkte/TC_PKCS11/1494.htm"TARGET="_top"> <SPANCLASS="ACRONYM">gpkcs11</SPAN></A> is an implementation of the <ICLASS="EMPHASIS">PKCS #11: Cryptographic Token Interface Standard</I>, available under the <SPANCLASS="ACRONYM">LGPL</SPAN> distribution license. </P><P> PKCS#11 defines an interface for the communication of arbitrary applications with systems that perform cryptogrphic operations, like encryption and decryption, signing and verifying. These systems, called <ICLASS="EMPHASIS">tokens</I>, may be smart cards (with appropriate reader), discrete hardware systems or pure software implementations. </P><P> The <SPANCLASS="ACRONYM">gpkcs11</SPAN> software is intended to be used by software developers to integrate PKCS#11 support to their applications.
