Among the project goals are the implementation of the <SPANCLASS="ACRONYM">PC/SC</SPAN> standard for accessing smart cards, better S/MIME integration with the Netscape browser, drivers for cards and card readers and <SPANCLASS="ACRONYM">PAM</SPAN> support smart card authentication.
