<td><font class="f14">    青海湖东端距西宁市1 36公里，湖面东西长1 06公里，南北宽63公里，湖周长365公里，湖面海拔3 1 93．3米，湖水最深25．5米，平均深度1 9米，水域面积4264平方公里，是我国最大的内陆咸水湖。青海湖作为世界著名的湿地自然保护区，是青藏高原生物多样性最丰富的宝库之一，是水禽的集中栖息地和繁殖育雏场所，也是极度濒危动物普氏原羚的唯一栖息地。青海湖流域及周边地区有野生动物2 1 3种，其中包括普氏原羚、雪豹、藏野驴、黑颈鹤、玉带海雕等国家一类保护动物8种，二类保护动物29种；分布有种子植物445种，其高原生物多样性、代表性和特有性是其它湿地所无法替代的。青海湖是维系青藏高原东北部生态安全的重要水体，是阻挡西部荒漠化向东蔓延的天然屏障，也是高原高寒干旱地区重要的水汽源，是环湖周边及更广大地区气候的自然调节器。青海湖区日照时间长，接受太阳辐射强，气压及含氧量低。流域年平均降水量为300--一400毫米，周边降水量为360毫米，湖水蒸发量在1 300毫米以上。据研究，由于青海湖的存在，使环湖地区的年平均气温升高了O．1。C以上，无霜期延长了10多天，气温日变化相对和缓，并使青海湖盆地形成了优良的牧场、野生动植物及鸟类的重要栖息分布地和高原特有的风景区。2005年，青海湖被《中国国家地理》杂志评为“中国最美五大湖泊”之首。景区以高原湖泊为主体，还有草原、雪山、沙漠等景观。青海湖是国家级风景名胜区和自然保护区，被联合国列入《国际重要湿地手册》等公约。 <br><br></font></td>
