The system you have in mind is currently in use at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Lab; you can see exactly where everyone is anywhere within the system in real time on your computer or PDA. It was apparently invented at Olivette Research Ltd in 1992. They call it the Active Badge Location System. Xerox has developed a number of enhancements to the system. Gates are usually installed by entrances to offices and other key points within the building. <br>>If you wanted to press a button and 'see' the exact location of an employee then yes it is possible using Aware.
