The system you have in mind is currently in use at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Lab; you can see exactly where everyone is anywhere within the system in real time on your computer or PDA.  It was apparently invented at Olivette Research Ltd in 1992.  They call it the Active Badge Location System.  Xerox has developed a number of enhancements to the system. After all, they have invented many of the fundamental elements of modern computing (the mouse, GUI) but often fail to bring products to market.<p>Good Luck, David<p>>Hi,<br>>Every user is known to the system (each person has their own unique RFID tag - Either attached to their existing company id card, or we issue them with a 'library' card).  <br>>When a person moves around the office, the system can identify where they are - This is the last 'gate' they passed.  Gates are usually installed by entrances to offices and other key points within the building.  <br>>If you wanted to press a button and 'see' the exact location of an employee then yes it is possible using Aware.
