But to avoid frequent misunderstandings: The product we are looking for is a reader module (sometimes also called "RFID reading element") and NOT a complete reader with housing - that's what we want to develop by ourselves. It is important that the manufacturer is able to handle orders with a number of pieces that exceeds 5.000 per year.
For that you exactly know what kind of reader module we need for our development please see at specifications listed below:
A) The (low cost!) proximity reader module shall read the encoded data from the transponder and transmit the data to a controller (i.e. our switching equipment / access control system).
If possible (optional function): The transponder only transmits his code, after recognizing the corresponding reader. For that the reader transmits a signal with included password that has to fit with password on transponder. (That doesn't mean an encrypted communication between transponder and reader.)
B) The interface protocol we need is 26 Bit Wiegand (other derivates are perhaps also of interest). Other interfaces aren't excluded on principle, but at least we need ONE type of proximity reader module that has a 26 Bit Wiegand interface.
C) The range of reading shall not exceed 10 cm (ideal is a distance that doesn't exceed 5 cm).
D) Power consumption shall not exceed 250 mW; supply voltage shall be 12 VDC (others also possible).
E) Transponder formats Hitag 1/2 and EM V4002/4050 or similar formats are sufficient (125 kHz technology) - we just need a read only transponder.
Remark: In our opinion a transponder that only compares in his RAM a read code (transmitted from reader) with his own stored code is also a read only transponder (but it is a reader selective transmission of the transponder's ID). Real read/write transponders for example you have in contactless smart card systems.
F) As transponder outline we need a key fob and a ISO Card (in others we are perhaps also interested).
G) Due to keen market competition price has to be as low as possible. Of course aspects like quality or availability will also be taken into account. But products which cost more than 40 EURO per part aren't of any interest at all. (According to our experience it is possible to get proximity reader modules for less than 15 EURO.)

For that you can get an additional impression of what we need please also take a look at the web site www.bkyung.co.kr (when loaded click "Product Info." then "R/F ID - Module").
For further information about our company please refer to our web site www.EAK-Alarmsysteme.de .
Thank you in advance & best regards,
Juergen Weissenberger, Dept. of development
EAK, Elektronische Alarmsysteme und Komponenten GmbH
G E R M A N Y

<input type=hidden name="body" value=">Dear unknown reader,>Maybe you can help me because I'm looking for a producer that could supply us proximity reader modules and transponders.
