Prior to the J2EE 1.4specifications,each Deployment Descriptor must be valid with respect to a specific DTDthat describes the Deployment Descriptor. They are found in the J2EE section of<a href="/dtd/">this document</a>.Starting withthe J2EE 1.4 specification, each specification requires its DeploymentDescriptor be validated with respect to an XML Schema that is listed inthe <a href="../j2ee/">J2EE 1.4 document</a>and this document. Note that deployment descriptors defined by previousversions of the Java EE specification must also be supported, and mustcontinue to be validated against the corresponding DTD.Note that several deployment descriptors have not beenupdated for Java EE 5. In particular, the J2EE 1.4deployment descriptors<a href="../j2ee/connector_1_5.xsd">connector_1_5.xsd</a>and <a href="../j2ee/j2ee_jaxrpc_mapping_1_1.xsd">j2ee_jaxrpc_mapping_1_1.xsd</a> are the currentversions used for Java EE 5.</p><p>This document describes how to use the Java EE schemas that are describedas a set of modules and provides a list of XML Schemas for eachdeployment descriptor.</p><!-- <span class="sp10"> </span><br /> --><a name="1"><div><b>Using Java EE Schemas </b></div></a><div class="contentdivider"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" class="grey4"><tr><td><img src="/im/a.gif" width="1" height="4" border="0" alt=" " /></td></tr></table></div><p>All Java EE Deployment Descriptor Schemas share the namespace,<a href="/xml/ns/javaee/">http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/</a>.Each schemadocument contains a version attribute that contains the version of thespecification.
