 期待我的第一场足总杯

   I said before the trip to Wigan in the press that it would be a very difficult game at the JJB Stadium because of their situation in the table. It was the new manager’s first match at home and in one way it’s not bad to take one point from an away fixture.

It looked as though it would have been easy in the beginning because of the bad mistake by Bramble which gave Geovanni a chance he didn't miss, but then Wigan came back and it’s ended up as a 1-1 draw.

A draw is an okay result but I spoke to the players after the match and we all feel we should win games like this and we should maybe do a little bit better. Work’s going on to try to do better in the future, even away from home, because if you want to be fighting high up in the table I think you have to win games like this.

We are braver and more positive when we play at home than we are away from home. We must try and throw that away in future. Perhaps we are a still little bit afraid of what happened at Stamford Bridge.

But we have played five times since then and not lost! Things are not bad and I am still feeling positive, the future is long and we didn't lose ground on close rivals in the league Everton or Portsmouth this weekend and made a point on Aston Villa.

Also this weekend Sunday was the one of the most historic days in the English football calendar, the FA Cup third round draw, this gives the opportunity for the small teams and lower league teams to draw a team from the Premier League. 

Unfortunately for us we were drawn away against a fellow Premier League side in West Ham United. I would have liked a better draw, but you accept it and I’m looking forward to my first game in the FA Cup. We have won there once already this season – it would be nice to do that a second time.

在赶赴维冈前的新闻发布会，我就说过在JJB球场我们将迎来一场恶战。这是维冈新任主教练在主场的第一场比赛，因此能在客场获得1分并不坏。

开局使比赛看起来很容易，布兰布尔可怕的错误给了热奥瓦尼机会，而且他没有浪费，但维冈也没有放弃，最后1比1结束了比赛。

平局是一个不错的结果，但是赛后我对球员们说，我认为我们应该赢下这场比赛，我们应该要做得更好。我们将来的任务就是做得更好，尤其是客场比赛，因为如果你想在积分榜上更进一步，我觉得你就应该赢得像对维冈这样的比赛。

我们在主场比客场踢得更为勇敢和积极，而我们应该把主场的表现灌输到客场，但也许斯坦福桥的经历让我们有些担心吧。但是自从客场惨败切尔西后，我们踢了5场比赛，无一败绩！事情并没有太糟，我仍然感觉前途光明。上周末，我们的竞争对手诸如埃弗顿或者朴茨茅斯没有赢球，而且阿斯顿维拉还失利了。

同样是上周末，英格兰足球历史上最有魅力的足总杯第三轮举行了抽签，这能提供给低级别的球队与英超球队交手的机会。但我们的运气并不好，我们的对手是英超的西汉姆联，而且还是客场。我肯定希望抽签能更好一些，但你只得接受结果，我已经迫不及待地期待我的第一场足总杯比赛了。我们本赛季已经赢过西汉姆联——所以同样的事情能重复两次将非常美妙。
