<p>JavaMail API 是一个 Java 包，用于阅读、编写及发送电子邮件消息（包括附件）。您能用它建立基于标准的电子邮件客户机，它配置了各种因特网邮件协议包括 SMTP、POP、IMAP 和 MIME，还包括相关的 NNTP、S/MIME 及其它协议。</p>
<p>此 API 自然的划分为两个部件。第一部件着眼于独立于使用协议的发送、接收及管理消息，而第二部件则着眼于协议的特定用途。本教程的目的在于展示如何利用 API 的第一部分，并不试图涉及协议供应商。</p>
<p>核心 JavaMail API 由七个类组成 — <code>Session</code>、<code>Message</code>、
<code>Address</code>、<code>Authenticator</code>、<code>Transport</code>、<code>Store</code>
及 <code>Folder</code> — 它们都来自 <code>javax.mail</code>、即 JavaMail API 顶级包。
我们用这些类完成了大量常见的电子邮件任务，包括发送消息、检索消息、删除消息、认证、回复消息、转发消息、管理附件、处理基于 HTML 文件格式的消息以及搜索或过滤邮件列表。</p>
