`smith.motif.tar.Z' includes the source code for the book "Designing
X clients with Xt/Motif," by Jerry D. Smith, Morgan Kaufmann, 1992
(available @ July 1992).

Note:  There is an existing XView program named `xrolo', so please
do NOT rename `xrolodex' to `xrolo'.  Having distinct names will
eliminate confusion and allow some users to install both products.

A few files are common to both projects, but rather than set up a
more complex directory hierarchy, these files are simply duplicated
in both directories.  The `xrolodex' project contains multiple
reusable high-level Motif objects, each of which is used by
'xrolodex'.  In addition, however, there are test programs that
demonstrate the objects, as described in the book.  For the main
projects, there is an `Imakefile' file as well as local make files,
e.g., `xfilter.make'.  The test programs for the Motif objects have
`*.make' files only.
