Be prepared to betaken to some weird places... Have fun!
Note: all links on this page to webcams open in a new window. I am notresponsible for the contents of these cams, nor if the cam is online, etc.
Want to be included? Drop me a line (webcam at smcc dot demon dot nl)! (address deliberately obfuscated)
Zürich, Switzerland

A look at the <a target="_blank"href="http://www.perspectives.ch/weststrasse.html">Weststrasse, inZürich (page is partly in German).
Utrecht, the Netherlands

A look at the <a target="_blank"href="http://www.xs4all.nl/~vanloef/webcam/index.html">Amsterdam-Rijnkanaalrunning through Utrecht. Does not seem to be online 24 hours a day.
Amsterdam, the Netherlands

An indoor look atsome office at the Weteringschans, in the heart of Amsterdam. Note: at nightthe office lights are out so the image is very dark/black.
Stuttgart, Germany

Located at the cybernetics faculty ofthe university of Stuttgart. Site is now in English, and you can even control thecamera's position.
Yarmouth, MA, USA

Operated by Jay Lubomirski, this cam looks at the port in Yarmouth Maine, at the Atlantic Ocean. This cam uses `streaming' video usingcamserv.
Houston, TX, USA

An indoor look atGeoff Ghose's wardrobe (and I suspect there's a desk just out of sight, soyou might catch him at the computer).
Bremen, Germany

A view at the <a target="_blank"href="http://www.min.uni-bremen.de/cgi-bin/Mincam.cgi"> Fallturm inBremen, where they perform zero-gravity experiments *1 (for aslong as it lasts :))
Troy, NY, USA

Two cams! Well, not really: Bob has 2 entries: a single snapshot viewand a `video' stream. Lookingat his office desk using camserv.
Doetinchem, The Netherlands

Martijn Houtman put up his webcamin his hometown; you get either a view of his bedroom or an outside look.
Somewhere in the United Kingdom

Doug Neal put up his <a target="_blank"href="http://www.dougneal.co.uk/webcam.shtml">DougCAM at home. Andquoting his homepage: "No Microsoft products were used in the making ofthis webcam page." :-).
Scrollbach, Germany

"Not a lot goes on here but the cam is always pointed out the window catching whatever does." So watch outwhat you're doing there in that town, you may be on Candid Camera :)
Paris, France

A cam in a crowdedroom of a non-profit organisation aimed to teach Unix (OpenBSD, Linux,Solaris). The organisation is part of the ECE (<ahref="http://www.ece.fr">www.ece.fr), school of electronics andcomputing).
The site is in French, but the webcam image is at the mainpage.
Valle Mosso, Italy

Alessio Re send me this link to his webcam view. Valle Mosso is located in the northwest of Italy, in thepre-Alps. Updated once per hour with CamE.

Italy

Italy again; this time an indoor look at Fabio Pani, location as yet unknown. The site has a popupwindow where you get a auto-refreshing image view.</>
Vienna, Austria

Thomas Hartmann put up a <a href="http://thomas.linux-inside.at"target="_blank">webcam in the office of a large telco in Vienna. Thesite is a mix of German and English, so I guess that for most of you itbecomes time to start learning a second language :)
Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Stargazing with a webcam! Or something like that... Sjoerd Simons and hiscollegues set up 3 webcams, and one of them can even be remote controlled. The coolest part about that last cam is that you can actually see the imageblur as the cam moves :) They also release the software for this site, somewhere at http://cvs.luon.net/, inthe 'sweat' tree.
Seattle, WA, USA

Daniel Jacobson put up a webcam(one out of 9, I'm told) in his home/office/whatever. Pretty weird website :)
Benton, AR, USA

Tim Ward put up his cam at <a href="http://db94.org/webcam/"target="_blank">db94.org. He claims to be a PHP hacker, and well, yousee the usual stuff: open computer cases, cables and other computer stufflying around, nerd behind the keyboard :-)

Auckland, New Zealand

Another cam down under (the lowest one, as far as I can tell, unless someone puts one up on Antarticta :-)), by Matthew Painter. And no, his camera is not broken, the image is black and white on purpose, justlike the rest of his site.
Oirschot, the Netherlands

Pieter van Leuven put up his webcam at home. His description: "Viewat the St. Pieter <a href="http://pvl.dyndns.org/pvl/kerk.html"target="_blank">church in Oirschot (15km west of Eindhoven). Not muchactivity but it at least you know what the weather is in the southern partof the Netherlands. (Updated every 30 seconds when Linux is running on mydesktop)"

Minden, Germany

Dirk Schäpsmeyer operates his <ahref="http://www.schaeps.de/menu/webcam.php" target="_blank"> 680 webcamfrom Minden, German. The cam shows live pictures 24 hours a day using singlepictures or a stream.

Et tu, fili?

No, I don't have a cam online. First, I don't have an interesting viewoutside and an indoor look invades my privacy too much.
Back to main page

*1: Strictly speaking the experiments are not in zero gravity: the objectis still in the earth's gravitional field, which pulls at it with 1 g; onlyits effects are momentarely lifted by the freefall. The closest you can getin this universe to 0 gravity is in intergalactic space; and maybe not eventhat, since there is no way to measure gravitydirectly yet. And yes, I am a nitpicker.
2002-08-07 - Nemosoft Unv.
