{cmd:set persistvtopic} specifies whether viewer topics persist between
sessions of Stata or when saving and loading a windowing preference.  By
definition, persist means that a viewer's current topic can be saved as a 
preference.  If {cmd: persistvtopic} is set {cmd: on} and a persistent viewer
is created, the viewer will remember the last topic viewed and display it.
This command applies only to Windows computers.

{pstd}
Persistent topics are only applicable to viewers that have been set as
persistent.  See {help persistfv} for information about persistent viewers.  


{pstd}
{cmd:on} specifies that floating viewers also be saved between sessions 
of Stata or when saving windowing preferences.
{cmd:off} specifies that floating viewers not be saved between sessions
of Stata or when saving windowing preferences.
The default value of {cmd:persistvtopic} is {cmd:off}.
