* Notes: this file defines three sets of mappings
*          - virtual key code --> virtual key name (VK_xxx)
*          - shifted virtual key name --> VT key name
*          - VT key name --> escape sequence
*
*        For example, the virtual key code for the F2 key on a PC key-
*        board is $71. This is linked to the virtual key name VK_F2.
*        This in turn is identified with the keyname DEC_PF2. This
*        keyname is linked to the ESC O Q sequence. Hence, when the
*        user hits the F2 key on his keyboard, the keyboard emulator
*        converts it to the DEC_PF2 mnemonic and thence to the
*        Esc O Q sequence which the terminal component then sends
*        to the server.

*        This process is complicated a little by the use of
*        application modes since they alter the escape sequence sent
*        by the terminal. What happens here is that the keyboard
*        emulator affixes a digit representing the mode onto the key
*        name and this is looked up:
*             Suffix  Mode
*             0       VT52 cursor mode
*             1       ANSI with cursor key mode reset
*             2       ANSI with cursor key mode set
*             3       VT52 numeric mode
*             4       VT52 application mode
*             5       ANSI numeric mode
*             6       ANSI application mode
*        If the key name ends in a 'c', the keyboard emulator replaces
*        it with 0, 1, 2 depending on the active mode before using it
*        as a lookup. If it ends with a 'k', the emulator replaces it
*        with 3, 4, 5, 6 before using it as a lookup.

*        The only keys converted by this process are: the numeric
*        keypad keys, the cursor movement keys and the function keys.
*        All other keys on the main keyboard generate the standard
*        characters and these are passed straight through.

*        The file consists of three tables: the table of virtual key
*        codes and their standard names (which should not be altered,
*        unless you are adding more mappings), the table of VT key
*        names and escape sequences (which should not be changed) and
*        the table of virtual key names and VT key names (which can be
*        changed to suit whichever key mapping you wish to use).

* The format of this file is as follows
*   - any completely blank line is ignored
*   - any line starting with a * is a comment
*   - any line starting with at least one space is a detail line. A
*     detail line consists of two 'words', where a word is a set of up
*     to 63 characters without a space, case sensitive. Words are
*     separated by spaces (NOT tabs).
*     \e in a word means Escape; \xnn, where nn is a hex number,
*     represents that ASCII character. For the shifted virtual key
*     declarations, you can also use the mnemonics shift, ctrl, alt
*     with the + sign to denote shifted virtual keys. For example
*     shift+VK_F1 means a shifted F1 key, alt+VK_F1 means an alt-
*     shifted F1 key and so on.
*     Any other characters after the two words is a comment and is
*     ignored.
*     Any detail line that cannot be parsed is simply ignored.
*   - any line that doesn't match the above is ignored.

* Warning: notice that the parser that reads this file does not emit
*          any warnings or errors whatsoever. It will just ignore
*          anything it doesn't understand. So, if something is not
*          working in the terminal keyboard emulation, check the
*          format of this file first.

* Hint: since the keypad Enter key has the same virtual key code as
*       the main keyboard Enter key, the emulator will alter the
*       virtual key code for the former to $2B (VK_EXECUTE) prior
*       to using it.
