John Ganter reported compiling and running Amygdala successfully on
Windows using VC++. In addition to the requirements for Unix you will
need:

- And adequate Standard Template Library: You can get one that is
  reported to work from  http://www.stlport.org/.   

- a Posix Thread Library. Grab it from 
  http://sources.redhat.com/pthreads-win32/

- libxml2. The original site is http://www.libxml.org. Windows
  binaries can be obtained at 
  http://www.fh-frankfurt.de/~igor/projects/libxml/

You will still not be able to compile the GA that comes with Amygdala.
This requires more POSIX conformance than Windows offers.


The easier way is probably to use Cygwin and GCC. I tested Amygdala
briefly with Cygwin and found that it compiles and runs out of the 
box, even those programs that require the X Windows system and the
smpspikeloop example. I did not test smpspikeloop on a multi processor
so it's possible that there are problems with such a configuration.
