README for HFSAuthor/Contact: tinyos-help@millennium.berkeley.eduDescription:HighFrequencySampling(HFS) is an application, which supports high frequency sampling. When command message is received, Sample component do actual sampling using MicroTimer and BufferedLog components. To sample:- program a mote with HFS, and place a standard mica sensor board on it- program a mote with TOSBase- compile the java code with make -f jmakefile- collect some samples: run a serial forwarder that talks to your TOSBase connect the TOSBase mote to your serial port execute java Sample.class 200 20000 This will collect 4s of 5kHz acceleremoter data. When the yellow led lights on the HFS mote, shake it, drop it, etc (we disclaim all responsability for broken motes)- recover the sampled data: connect the HFS mote to your serial port execute java GetData.class 20000 >mydata (this will take a while) plot the data in mydata, e.g., on Linux, in gnuplot gnuplot> plot "mydata" with linesTo learn more about how to use this in your application:- Read the comments at the start of HFS.nc- Read the code and comments in the modules you're interested in...With the default ADC clocks, the current minimum intervals are:- mica: 215 us (4.65kHz) (the default ADC clock is 250kHz, which is out of spec for best precision)- mica2: 283 us (3.53kHz) (the default ADC clock is 113kHz)If you want higher sampling rates, try setting the ADC clock to a highervalue (you can only choose power-of-2 divisions of the system clock), viathe ADCControl interface. Note that rates above 200kHz reduce the ADCprecision. For instance, on the mica2 with an ADC clock at 452kHz, you canget 118us, i.e., 8.47kHz.Tools:GetData (included in the same directory)Sample (included in the same directory)Known bugs/limitations:NoneSee Also:
