::                 Description::
This program is designed to run a simple check
on the key components of your CDT800 board.
The ::Internal Check:: will test the Am9513A STC
and the digital I/O of the CDT800.









::              Internal Check::
The internal check performs a set of tests on
the internal circuitry of your CDT800 board.
These tests can determine if the on-board
digital I/O and the Am9513A are working
properly.


::               Am9513A Test::
This test is used to check if the Am9513A are
working properly.You can use any software or
hardware methods to check the Am9513A.





::             Am9513A Test Screen::
  There are a window on the screen for the
  Am9513A. You can set five Counter Load
  registers,five Counter Hold registers,two
  Alarm registers,and start or stop every
  counter.







::               I/O Connector::
J2 is a 40 pin connector used for the Am9513A
external connections to the CDT800.
J3 is a 26 pin connector used for the Digital
I/O external connections to the CDT800.

You can get a diagram of this connector by
choosing the I/O Connector option from the
Main Menu.


::                 Quit::
  Choose this item to quit this program.


::              Digital I/O Test::
The digital I/O test allows you to write to
the digital output lines or read from the
digital input lines on the CDT800.  You can
use external voltage sources or meters for
this test.  However,a more convenient way
to run this test is to connect the input and
output lines together.

Consult the ::I/O Connector:: diagram for details
on which pins are used for digital I/O.



::             Digital I/O Screen::
There are three windows on the right side of
the screen for either input or output. Input
windows are updated constantly.  If a high
signal is present on any of the bits of an
input port this will be represented by a 1 in
the proper position in the display window.  A
low signal will be represented by a 0.  Note
displayed value can be either 1 or 0.
A fourth window to the left of the screen is
used to set the bits on a byte that can be
sent to the output lines.The output byte value
is set by moving to the bit to set or clear
and pressing the spacebar.

To send the output byte to a port press ::0::,::1::,or
::2:: to send it to either port0,port1,or port2.

::                 BaseAddress::
You can use ::Step:: to select the base address
you have set on your board by arrow keys.
This array shows all of the available
addresses for the CDT800. At the bottom of
the screen is a display of what switch S1
will look like for the highlighted base
address.
If you are unsure as to which base address has
been selected ::Quit:: then check the settings
on your board and re-run this program.@
