Configure the Emulator to Connect to Internet 


With a proxy server 


1.      Click Start on the emulator and select Settings. 
2.      Select the System tab and click About. 
3.      Select the Device ID tab and change the device name to something unique 
so that it won't conflict with another device on the network. 
4.      Go back to Settings and select the Connections tab. 


For Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2000 


5.      Set the value of "My network card connects to" to "Work". 
6.      Click the Modify button when the dropdown control shows "Work Settings". 
7.      Click the Proxy Settings tab. 
8.      Enable "This network connects to the Internet" and "This network uses a 
proxy server to connect to the Internet" and enter your proxy server name 
in "Proxy server". 


For Pocket PC 2003 


5.      Click the Connections icon. 
6.      Select the Task tab. 
7.      Click "Set up my proxy server". 
8.      Enable both "This network connects to the Internet" and "This network 
uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet". 
9.      Enter your proxy server name in "Proxy server" 


Without a proxy server 


1.      Follow steps 1-3 in the "with a proxy server" section above to set a 
unique device name. 
2.      Go to Settings and select the Connections tab. 


For Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2000 


3.      Click the Network Adapters icon. 
4.      Select DC21X4 Ethernet Driver in the list of drivers installed.  Click 
the Properties button. 
5.      Enable "Use specific IP address". Enter 192.168.0.2 in "IP address" and 
255.255.255.0 in "Subnet mask". 


For Pocket PC 2003 


3.      Click the Connections icon. 
4.      Select the Advanced tab. 
5.      Click the Network Card button. 
6.      Double click "DC21X4 Ethernet Driver". 
7.      Enable "Use specific IP address". Enter 192.168.0.2 in "IP address" and 
255.255.255.0 in "Subnet mask".
