Selecting apermission tests that the corresponding API works correctly.Not selecting a permission tests that the corresponding API throws<code>SecurityException</code>.<p><IMG SRC="../../images/hg_note.gif" ALT="Note icon"> <b>Important Note:</b><br>This answer affects test selection only for <b>untrusted</b> tests.These tests are marked with the keyword <tt>untrusted</tt> and areexecuted in untrusted mode.</p><p>When the test device's security policy for untrusted MIDlets is configurable(for example, with a smart card) then it is best to make multiple test runsin <b>untrusted mode</b> and select different permissions for each run. Thisassures the highest confidence that the implementation under test is correctin as many security modes as is reasonably possible.</p><p>As a minimum, the following procedure ensures that all security sensitiveAPIs are tested both when permissions to use them have been granted and whenthey have not:</p><ul><li>Select the <i>most</i> permissions the device can grant    and run the tests.</li> <li>Select the <i>fewest</i> permissions the device can grant    and run the tests. </li></ul><p><IMG SRC="../../images/hg_note.gif" ALT="Note icon"> <br>Some implementations initiate a prompt asking you to grant or deny certainpermissions. During a test run with the <i>most</i> permissions granted,answer these prompts by granting all permissions. During a test run withthe <i>fewest</i> permissions granted, answer these prompts by denyingall permissions, with the following exception: HTTP permission must alwaysbe granted because access to HTTP is required to return test results tothe JavaTest harness.</p></body></html>
