.TH isodump 5 "isodump v1" "libraw1394 @VERSION@" "Linux IEEE 1394".SH NAMEisodump \- format of IEEE 1394 isochronous packets dump file.SH DESCRIPTIONThe isodump format stores a series of IEEE 1394 isochronous streampackets (possibly from multiple channels), including their headers. Its main use is as the output format of \fBdumpiso\fR(1) and the inputformat of \fBsendiso\fR(1)..PPThe 32 byte header starts at offset 0 with the string "1394 isodumpv1" followed by a zero byte. The next 8 bytes form a 64 bit bigendian integer, which represents a bit mask of the channels that weredumped. A set bit at position (1 << x) signifies that channel x wasbeing listened on. The following 8 bytes are set to zero..PPThe iso packets follow the header and are appended to the data streamin the order they were received. The packets consist of the headerquadlet as originally received and the data quadlets followingdirectly. The CRC quadlets after header and data do not appear andeverything is in big endian, as seen on the bus..PPThere is no further framing of the packets in the format, packetboundaries can be found by looking at the data size field in theheader quadlet of each packet. The data size field appears in themost significant 16 bits of the header quadlet, contain the size inbytes (the actual packet is padded to a multiple of four bytes) and donot include the header packet..SH COMPATIBILITYThis format was introduced with the iso send and dump toolsdistributed with libraw1394. No one else uses it so far..SH SEE ALSO.B sendiso\fR(1),.B dumpiso\fR(1).SH AUTHORAndreas Bombe <aeb@debian.org>
