<p>HTTP 是在 Internet 上移动超文本文件的协议。它需要一个 HTTP 客户机程序，比如一端的 Web 浏览器，以及另一端的 HTTP 服务器程序。HTTP 是在 World Wide Web 中使用的最重要的协议。如果在 Internet 上读到本教程，您可能已经在使用 HTTP 协议了。</p>
<p>HTTP 协议是一种请求/响应协议。客户机请求方法、统一资源标识符（URI）和协议版本，然后请求一个包含请求修饰符、客户机信息和可能的正文内容的类似 MIME 的邮件，客户机以这种形式，通过与服务器的连接向服务器发送请求。服务器使用一个状态行进行响应，这个状态行中包括服务器信息、实体元数据信息和可能的实体正文内容。HTTP 通信通常在 TCP/IP 连接上出现。默认端口是 TCP 80，但是也可以使用其他端口。</p>
<p>几年中，这个协议从版本 0.9 和 1.0 发展到目前的 1.1。HTTP 1.0 与 HTTP 1.1 的主要区别是它们处理连接的方式。HTTP 1.0 使用一种拆除（tear-down）方式，其中，每一个新的连接用于一次请求/响应交换。例如，如果引用了两个在线图像、一个模式表和一个 JavaScript 文件，那么客户机需要打开到同一服务器的五个单独的 TCP 连接（一个用于主页、两个用于在线图像、一个用于模式表，一个用于 JavaScript），因而增加了 HTTP 服务器的负荷，并造成 Internet 上的拥挤。在 HTTP 1.1 中，对于一个或者多个请求/响应交换使用一个持久性（也称为保持活动）的连接，尽管由于各种原因连接可能会关闭。</p>
<p>HTTP 请求可以是 GET、POST、HEAD、PUT、OPTIONS、DELETE、TRACE 或者 CONNECT 类型。其中，只有下面三种被广泛使用。</p>
<p>
<b>GET</b>
</p>
<p>获取由请求 URI 识别的信息（以实体的形式）。当用户在浏览器的地址栏中直接输入 URL、用户单击链接时，或者当 FORM 用方法属性指定 GET 方法时，就会触发这个方法。</p>
<p>
<b>POST</b>
</p>
<p>用请求的正文发送数据，发送安全信息（如登录数据）时会很有用。这个方法使客户机可以一次向 Web 服务器发送不限长度的数据。它还可以用于上载文本和二进制数据。</p>
<p>
<b>HEAD</b>
</p>
<p>用于获取关于资源的元信息（HTTP 头）。代理服务器通过验证相应的 HTTP 头，验明对于本地缓冲的资源是否有新的更新。</p>
<p>HTTP 的好处有：
		<ul>
<li>容易实现和扩展</li>
<li>普遍使用的标准</li>
<li>大多数防火墙不堵塞 HTTP 流量</li>
</ul>

<p>HTTP 的缺点是：
		<ul>
<li>无状态：每个请求/响应都是隔离的、自包含的单元。当前请求不知道应用程序的上一状态。这对于简单的 Web 页来说没问题，但是对于许多动态 Web 应用程序来说，状态维护是最重要的。不过，这个问题可以有如下解决方法：
		<ul>
<li>Cookies</li>
<li>URL 重写</li>
<li>HTTPS</li>
</ul>

<li>不安全：因为所有请求/响应都使用明文，因此容易被有心人嗅探通信，从而获通信细节。此外，还没有针对客户机和服务器的验证。目前欺骗 DNS 记录是容易的，您可能无意中将敏感信息交给了假装是真的服务器的、入侵的服务器。</li>
