<p>在 Java 语言中线程是对象。可以通过扩展 <code>java.lang.Thread</code> 类或者实现 java.lang.Runnable 接口来定义一个线程。应该覆盖  <code>run()</code> 方法并应该有由新线程执行的代码。这个方法必须为 public 且返回类型为 <code>void</code> ，并且没有任何参数。更多有关线程的内容请参阅 <a href="j-scjp-11-2.html">参考资料 </a>。 </p>

<b>扩展 <code> thread </code>
						</b>

如果需要继承 <code>Thread</code> 类的行为，那么我们可以使用它的子类。这样做的缺点是不能再扩展任何其他类了。例如： </p>

<p>现在可以实例化和开始 <code>Thread</code> 对象了。尽管线程的执行方法称为 <code>run</code>，但是您并不直接调用这个方法。相反，而是调用线程类的 <code>start()</code> 方法。调用 <code>start()</code> 方法时，线程从 new 状态转换为 <code>thread</code> 状态。当线程调度程序（Thread Scheduler）给线程提供了执行的机会时，就会调用 <code>run()</code> 方法。如果直接调用 <code>run()</code> 方法，那么它里面的代码就被当前线程而不是新线程执行。例如： </p>
