The product's data mining tools include the Association Rule Generator, Decision Tree Inducer for classification, Evidence Inducer, and Column Importance determination utility. The tools present several dimensions of data simultaneously by using color, size, and animation. The visualizers support filtering, querying, rotation, zooming, and panning, and can be customized by the user. SGI has added k-means and iterative k-means algorithms for clustering and has developed graphical outputs for clustering in its visualizer. MineSet 2.5 also supports regression trees for the generation of decision trees.
