The file shall be created if it does not exist; otherwise, the messages shall be appended to the file. The message shallbe put in the state <i>saved</i>, and shall behave as specified in the description of the <i>saved</i> state when the currentmailbox is exited by the <b>quit</b> or <b>file</b> command.</p><p>In the capitalized form, save the specified messages in a file whose name is derived from the author of the first message. Thename of the file shall be taken to be the author's name with all network addressing stripped off. The forms <i>name</i> and <i>name</i>= shall be equivalent to <i>name</i>="" for variables that takestring values. The <b>set</b> command without arguments shall write a list of all defined variables and their values.
