<html><head><title>The Compound</title></head><body> <h1>The Compound</h1><p>The Compound is a loose affiliation of friends with almost nothing ofconsequence in common and very little to recommend them. The group is centeredaround a house with high ceilings, hardwood floors, terrible plumbing, and manyhidden nooks and crannies which could conceivably be filled with butter. Once,three separate orders for pizza were placed on one night from the Compound. Anyalleged relationship between the Compound and the NSA is purely speculative andwill be vigorously denied (as will the existence of the NSA).<hr><h2>Compound residents:</h2><dl><p><dt>J.P. Young<dd>computer programmer, primary financier, very nice guy although he isunlikely to admit it.<p><dt><!WA0><img src="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/jadair/icons/smallGDNDL.GIF" alt="" align=bottom> George Demosthenes Nickas<dd>brilliant writer, skilled manipulator of pens, pencils, and keyboards, notreally as crazy as he seems.<p><dt><!WA1><img src="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/jadair/icons/smallBiohazard.GIF" alt="" align=bottom> <!WA2><a href=http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/jadair/index.html>John S. Adair</a><dd>eternal student (and proud of it), anal retentive collector, attended everymeeting when he was Treasurer (Secretary) of ASCE.<p><dt><!WA3><a href=http://www.io.com/~hollyt/>Holly E. Taylor</a><dd>hopeless do-gooder, studied to be a non-practicing lawyer, currently apracticing lawyer, frustrated artist.<p><dt><!WA4><img src="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/jadair/icons/smallFeet.GIF" alt="" align=bottom> <!WA5><a href=http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/jadair/evan.html>Evan James Taylor-Adair</a><dd>widely regarded as the smallest and cutest Compound resident, not yet oldenough to be maligned.</dl><hr><h2>Other Compound members in good standing:</h2><dl><dt><!WA6><img src="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/jadair/icons/smallBlueTexas.GIF" alt="" align=bottom> <!WA7><a href="http://www.io.com/~nbn/personal/"> Joe Carl Patrick Spontaneous White</a><dd>official Compound handyman (with uniform), talented singer, most skilledand imaginative procrastinator of the group (although it was a very close race).<p><dt>Katherine A.
