The emphasis is on technology commercialization, wherein the industry colleagues actively participate from the earliest stages of product identification and development.
WCSAR's main expertise is with advanced closed controlled environment systems. Specifically, WCSAR and its partners have developed the highly successful suite of technologies collectively known as <!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3>ASTROCULTURE(tm), for the long-term growth and maintenance of plant materials in microgravity. <!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4>ASTROCULTURE(tm) hardware has flown on five Space Shuttle missions, the most recent being the <!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5>Second United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-2) in the fall of 1995.
