Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.Springer-Verlag, 1995.</p><p>Co-authored with Daniela Rus.</p><hr><p><strong>Abstract</strong><br>We present and analyze effficient algorithms for the automated recognitionand interpretation of layout structures in electronic documents.The key idea is to use the patterns in the distribution of white spacein a document to recognize and interpret its components.
