When I was three years old, my family moved to Hamden, <!WA2><!WA2><!WA2><!WA2><a href="http://www.ctstateu.edu/state.html">Connecticut</a>, where I grew up. I went to college at <!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><a href="http://www.princeton.edu/">Princeton University</a> where I majored in <!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><a href="http://pupgg.princeton.edu/">physics</a>. Graduating in 1993, I joined the <!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><a href="http://www.cs.cornell.edu/Info/People/nihowe/personal/tfa.html">Teach for America</a> program and spent two years teaching at a small rural public high school in <!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><a href="http://w3dcs.state.ar.us/">Arkansas</a>.
