Companies, academicinstitutions, government, and many other agencies are all moving towardthis "universal information highway". As the amount of hypermediameterials increases, the burden on top of HTTP servers gets aggravated.It is an essential task to find a mechanism in which hypermedia data canbe collected and stored in a central repository, and requestedinformation can be forwarded to outside clients within a reasonableperiod of time. We have proposed, implemented, and tested severalmodels. The result shows clearly the superiority distributed <!WA1><!WA1><!WA1><!WA1><A HREF="http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/Protocols/HTTP/HTTP2.html">HTTP</A> servers over stand-alone servers. Furthermore, <!WA2><!WA2><!WA2><!WA2><A HREF="http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/MarkUp/MarkUp.html">HTML </A>document access patterns are discussed, and suggestions forfuture implementation of HTTP are presented .
