Withrecent funding from NSF and IBM, the Laboratory serves as the testbedfor the Gaea Project. <p>Recent research projects have included visualbrowsing and query interface design, distributing scientificcomputation and databases over a network, temporal modeling, anddevelopment of "Derivation Networks" that can represent complexcomputational processes. <p>The laboratory's hardware includes aDECstation 5000/200, a Sun SPARCstation, a SGI Indigo Elan.
