Shin is Professor and Director of the <!WA2><A HREF="http://www.eecs.umich.edu/RTCL">Real-TimeComputing Laboratory</A> (RTCL) in the <!WA3><A HREF="http://www.eecs.umich.edu/">ElectricalEngineering and Computer Science</A> department at the <!WA4><A HREF="http://www.umich.edu">Universityof Michigan</A>. </P><P>His research interests include real-time fault-tolerant computing, QoS-guaranteedwireline &wireless networking, real-time control and its applicationto reconfigurable manufacturing systems, and OS & tools for distributedembedded applications like automobiles and modern buildings.
