The CVMproject was established with the goal of investigating novel protocols,multi-threading support, and extensibility. (<!WA15><ahref="http://www.cs.umd.edu/~keleher/dsm.html">related work</a>)<p><LI> <B><!WA16><a href="http://www.cs.umd.edu/projects/harmony">Active Harmony</a>:</b><br><em>Active Harmony</em> is a software architecture that supports efficientdistributed execution of computational objects in dynamic environmentsthrough <em>runtime adaptation</em>, <em>automatic applicationadaptation</em>, and novel <em>shared-data interfaces</em>.<p><LI> <B> <!WA17><ahref="http://www.cs.rice.edu/~willy/TreadMarks/overview.html">TreadMarks</a>:</b><br>My dissertation research centered on developing memory models that allowhigh performance DSM implementations over networks of workstations.
