His research experience andinterests lie in the areas of interactive computer graphics and visualization,computer vision, knowledge-based systems, and 3D imaging and modelingtechniques. In particular, Dr. Ezquerra is exploring approaches for extracting,representing, and interpreting dynamic processes and complex structures withina biomedical context. His interdisciplinary research is supported by theNational Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health, theGeorgia Research Alliance, the Emory-Georgia Tech Center, and the GeorgiaTech- Medical Col. of Ga Center.<P>Professor Ezquerra served as Associate Director for Research in the GVU Center(1992-94), co-founded the Conference on Visualization in Biomedical Computing(VBC, 1990), and received the FIRST Award from the National Library of Medicine(NLM) for his work in knowledge-based medical image interpretation (1987). Heis Adjunct Professor in the School of Medicine, Emory University, and serves asAssociate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging. He has also served oris serving as invited editor, reviewer, and/or technical committee member innumerous journals, conferences, and organizations including IEEE Visualization,National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Computers inPhysics, The Visual Computer, ACM SIGGRAPH, VBC, Artificial Intelligence inMedicine, and other government agencies in the US and abroad. Dr. Ezquerrareceived his graduate degrees from Florida State University and hisundergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Physics from the University of SouthFlorida.
