Kaiser is a tenured Associate Professor of Computer Scienceand the Director of the <!WA3><Ahref="http://www.psl.cs.columbia.edu/">Programming Systems Laboratory</A>in the <!WA4><a href="http://www.cs.columbia.edu/">Computer ScienceDepartment</a> at <!WA5><a href="http://www.columbia.edu/">ColumbiaUniversity</a>. She was named as an NSF Presidential YoungInvestigator in Software Engineering, and has authored or co-authoredabout 90 <!WA6><a href="http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~kaiser/pubs.html">publications</a> in a range of areas,including World Wide Web technologies, collaborative work, softwaredevelopment environments, software process and workflow, extendedtransaction models, object-oriented languages and databases, andparallel and distributed systems. She is best-known for the <!WA7><Ahref="http://www.psl.cs.columbia.edu/marvel.html">Marvel</A> and <!WA8><Ahref="http://www.psl.cs.columbia.edu/oz.html">Oz</A> process-centeredenvironments and for her work on <!WA9><Ahref="http://www.psl.cs.columbia.edu/pern.html"> cooperativetransaction models</A>. Prof. Kaiser is an associate editor of the<!WA10><a href="http://www.acm.org/tosem/">ACM Transactions on SoftwareEngineering and Methodology</a>, was the Program Committee Chair ofthe <!WA11><AHREF="ftp://june.cs.washington.edu/pub/se/sigsoft95-fse.bib">1995 ACMSIGSOFT Symposium on Foundations of Software Engineering</A>, and hasserved on over two dozen conference program committees as well asreviewing frequently for conferences, journals, NSF, NSERC and otherfunding agencies. She received her PhD and MS from <!WA12><ahref="http://www.cs.cmu.edu/">CMU</a> and her ScB from <!WA13><ahref="http://www-eecs.mit.edu/">MIT</a>.
