Baden received his BS in Electrical Engineering from <!WA29><a href="http://www.duke.edu/"> Duke University</a> in 1978 and his Ph.D. in <!WA30><a href="http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/"> Computer Science </a> from <!WA31><a href="http://www.berkeley.edu/"> UC Berkeley </a> in 1987. After spending two years as a post-doc at <!WA32><a href="http://www.lbl.gov/"> Lawrence Berkeley Laboratry</a>, and a year traveling the Globe, he joined the <!WA33><a href="http://www-cse.ucsd.edu/CSE_Home_Page.html"> Department of Computer Science and Engineering </a> at <!WA34><a href="http://www.ucsd.edu"> UCSD </a> in 1990.
