He was the founder and the Chairman of <!WA21><A NAME=tex2html21 HREF="http://www.iware.com">Imageware Inc.</A>, an <!WA22><A NAME=tex2html22 HREF="http://online.ann-arbor.mi.us/ann-arbor/online.html">Ann Arbor</A> based companydedicated to revolutionize software interfaces for emerging sensortechnologies. He is the founding chairman of<!WA23><A NAME=tex2html23 HREF="http://www.virage.com">Virage</A>, a <!WA24><A NAME=tex2html24 HREF="http://www.city.net/countries/united_states/california/san_diego">San Diego</A>based company developing systems for <!WA25><A NAME=tex2html25 HREF="http://www.virage.com/vir-res">visual information retrieval</A>.<P>Ramesh is a Fellow of <!WA26><A NAME=tex2html26 HREF="http://www.ieee.org">IEEE</A>,<!WA27><A NAME=tex2html27 HREF="http://www.aaai.org">AAAI</A>, and <!WA28><A NAME=tex2html28 HREF="http://www.spie.org">Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers</A>, andmember of <!WA29><A NAME=tex2html29 HREF="http://www.acm.org">ACM</A>, Pattern RecognitionSociety, Cognitive Science Society, Optical Society of America, and<!WA30><A NAME=tex2html30 HREF="http://www.sme.org">Society of Manufacturing Engineers</A>.He has been involved in organization of several professional conferences andworkshops, and served on editorial boards of many journals. Currently, he isthe Editor-in-Chief of <!WA31><A NAME=tex2html31 HREF="http://www.computer.org/pubs/multimed/multimed.htm">IEEE Multimedia</A>, and is onthe editorial boards of Machine Vision and Applications, Pattern Recognition,and Image and Vision Computing.
