The year beforethat, I postdoc'ed at the Hebrew University Givat Ram campus inJerusalem.  From 1987-92, I was at UC Berkeley, completing adissertation with <!WA12><a href="http://http.cs.Berkeley.edu/~sequin/"> Carlo Sequin</a>.<p> My research interests include global illumination algorithms;visibility computations; constrained spatial subdivisions; visualsimulation; interactive algorithm visualization, verification andanimation; self-checking geometric algorithms; real-time ray-tracedimagery; and machine vision, including fully automated acquisitionof geometric models and other forms of data.<p> I head the <!WA13><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/sigroup/homepage.html"> SyntheticImagery Group</a>, which is part of the<!WA14><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/"> MIT Computer Graphics Group</a>.Our main research emphases are 1) <!WA15><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~seth/city/city.html"> digitizing whole cities</a> with pose-instrumented(6-DOF) digital cameras; 2) managing and rendering <!WA16><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~seth/complexity.html">     extremely complex geometric datasets</a>; 3) generating <!WA17><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~seth/raytracedimagery.html">real-time ray-traced imagery</a> on general-purpose (i.e., non-graphics) hardware; and 4) techniques for remote, interactive, collaborative<!WA18><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~bwporter/EduFuse/"> undergraduate education</a>.<p>Also, <!WA19><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~dorsey"> Julie Dorsey</a> hasrecently joined the <!WA20><a href="http://alberti.mit.edu/arch/arch.html">Dept. of Architecture</a> and <!WA21><a href="http://www.lcs.mit.edu/"> Lab for Computer Science</a>at MIT, and is building the <!WA22><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/visual_simulation/">Visual Simulation Group</a>.<p> This semester (Fall 1996), I'm teaching <!WA23><ahref="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/6.837/f96/"> 6.837 (Introduction toComputer Graphics)</a>, which will meet TR from 230-4pm in MITbuilding/room <!WA24><a href="http://registrar.mit.edu/map/mitmap.cgi?3-270">3-270</a>.<p>Spring 1996, I taught <!WA25><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~seth/6.046-S96/6.046.html"> 6.046 (Introductionto Algorithms)</a>, which met TR from 230-4pm in MIT building/room<!WA26><a href="http://web.mit.edu/afs/athena.mit.edu/org/o/ofms-space/www/mapdocs/w2.html"> 2-190.</a><p> Fall 1995, I taught <!WA27><a href="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~seth/6.837/6.837.html"> 6.837(Introduction to Computer Graphics)</a>, formerly <!WA28><ahref="http://graphics.lcs.mit.edu/~seth/6.837/6.837.html"> 6.037</a> (it was renumbered to reflect thefact that graduate students can now take it for "G" credit).
